Question Time:

If you have a scaredy-cat colleague who is really afraid of the being alone, and you were in the office really early one day, and can hear her coming in, do you (i) say hi as she walks in to "pre-emptively" scare her, or (ii) let her see for herself that there is a human figure in the office, hence scaring herself?

I'd create some "office ambient noise", like clicking my mouse, tapping the keyboard or using the stapler.

One wouldn't expect an intruder or supernatural being to be surfing the net or organising documents, so the shock would be minimal.

I would say 'hi' using my lowest possible voice (so it doesn't sound like me, or anybody else in the office) and when she asks who it is, I'll keep quiet and hide under the table so she won't find anybody even if she decides to walk around. Muahahahahahaha!
